Recent ARM devices such as the dual-core Cortex A9 and similar TI OMAP CPUs are attractive for NAS systems. They are low cost, offer considerable performance, and consume very little space and power. NetBSD and FreeBSD will run on such CPUs so their respective ports of ZFS would be available. It would be useful if OpenSolaris was ported to ARM.
