Hi,

ZFS drew my attention and I'm thinking of using it to manage the storage for a
virtual machine host. The plan is to get a Core i7 machine with 12GB RAM and 6
SATA disks (+1 PATA for boot/swap), configure the 6 disks in a tank of mirrored
pairs and keep on that pool a number of virtual machines used for development
and testing. I would have 8-10 of them running at the same time. The host OS
would be Opensolaris, virtualization with Virtualbox.

Is this a reasonable setup to have? Will ZFS spread the load equally on the
disks as if they are in a RAID10 setup? Can I expect Opensolaris to work nicely
on a new motherboard such as GIGABYTE GA-P55-UD6 (it's not on Opensolaris hcl,
and I can't find the integrated I/O controllers or LAN chips either).
