That has always been the plan and it comes completely for free given it uses the Crypto Framework APIs. I already have acceleration on the UltraSPARC T2 processors without have a single special line of code.

There isn't yet a driver/code for the VIA CPUs integrated into the crypto framework. A prototype was started by someone outside of Sun but it hasn't yet integrated:
