I'm looking at getting a DRAM-based Solid State Drive (the old style,
using DDR or DDR2 DIMMs with a battery backup). I need something that
does a silly number of IOPS, and I'm not willing to pay for a Zeus SSD.

:-)

I found this one:

http://www.acard.com/english/fb01-product.jsp?prod_no=ANS-9010&type1_title=%20Solid%20State%20Drive&idno_no=270

Does anyone know of any other similar items? I'm looking for something
that fits these criteria:

(1) uses DDR or (preferably) DDR2 DIMMs, hopefully ECC

(2) minimum 4 DIMM slots, minimum 8GB capacity, though 16GB would be
better.

(3) 5.25" half-height (CDROM size) form factor OR 3.5" form factor

(4) preferably SAS interface, though 3.0Gbps SATA is OK, too.

(5) battery backup

(6) sync to dedicated Compact Flash, Flash SSD, or hard drive on power
failure

(7) UNDER $500, without RAM.
