ZFS filesystem version 6
ZFS storage pool version 6
Platform - 0.7RC1 (revision 4735) // FreeBSD 7.2-RELEASE-p1 (revision 199506)
// i386-embedded on AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1500+
Drives - 250GB & 150GB IDE // ZFS Raid Stripe

Am aware this is not OpenSolaris but looking for the ZFS expertise. Thanks.

Completely new to FreeNAS/ZFS/FreeBSD but pleased & impressed so far
(after years with Windows .......)

I was forced (for other reasons not to do with this post) to do Reset to
Factory Defaults which successfully allowed me to run FreeNAS again. In doing
so, I have "lost" my ZFS pool and all the data therein.

On restarting, Via the GUI, I redefined the drives -
Disks/Management/+/Preformatted File System chose ZFS storage pool
device. Recreated the pool via Disks/ZFS/Virtual Device and
Disks/ZFS/Pools.

I was clearly mistaken in the belief that the drives would be recognized as
pre-existing ZFS pool devices.

So far, after zpool import I can get the pool-id. After zpool import
-f pool-id I get poolName but the zpool list shows this as empty (0%
used).Clearly my redefining of drives and pool after reset has re-initialised
drives (but not formatted them) so I assume the data is still there.

Is there any way I can recover the "original" pool and underlying data?
Thanks for any help on this.
