Hi

Hope this is the correct forum for my questions.

I have 3 x m9000's and 2 x m5000's, Which I would like to use ZFS root/boot
disks with support for Dynamic Reconfiguration.

Sun SPARC Enterprise M8000/M9000 Servers Product Notes for XCP Version 1040
reports this issue as being broken.
Sun SPARC Enterprise M8000/M9000 Servers Product Notes for XCP Version 1041
reports this issue as having a work around.

The bug is detailed here, with the work around:
http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6522017

According to FUJITSU Europe, there are no customers in Europe using ZFS on M
series servers and cannot confirm whether they will support me or not, they
have recommended I remain on UFS.

Can anyone confirm that they are running M series servers with ZFS boot disks
and are currently using dynamic reconfiguration with the work around in a large
production environment?

If so, would you recommend doing so? Is there anything I should look out for?
Are there any performance implications for using ZFS rather than UFS boot disks?

Lastly have there been any improvements with regards to ZFS running large
oracle database 5TB to 10TB? Last time we investigated performance was said to
be very poor. Currently we are using SF, however we would like to start
considering using ZFS for some of our smaller environments.

Kind Regards
Merritt
