Yes, restore your last backup to a zfs filesystem in a newly
created pool.
If you don't have a backup, there is no way, because the new
pool has overwritten all labels, ueberblocks and pointer
blocks of the original pool.
That's what I was afraid of...
I do have a backup, but older than I'd like. I'll write this one down to
experience; it's nice to have confirmation in any case.
