I think by doing some sort of formal process we'll actually get feedback
about the best way to move forward. There are assumptions and
limitations with grub-0.97 that be possibly be addressed as well.
I would, but this is more than just about ZFS so I would want to know
that this has been reviewed by the code x86 boot team as well. I'd
suggest asking on driver-discuss@ and on-discuss@ for contacts for that.
