Yes. For GSoC it would probably be wise to limit the scope to
implementing an existing algorithm from the literature.
But I'm curious as to why you would want to put both the slog and
L2ARC on the same SSD?
I'm thinking about small NASes where you can't justify the cost of two
or three SSDs. How much performance can you get with one SSD?
