at the risk of venturing off topic:

that looks like a good revisioning scheme. opensolaris creates a new (default) 
boot environment during the update process, which seems like a very cool 
feature. seems like. when i update my 2008.11 install, nwam breaks, apparently 
a known bug (the workaround didn't work for me, probably due to inexperience). 
"no problem" me thinks, i just boot into the old environment. nwam still 
broken. i had naively assumed that the new BE was a "delta", again, i know 
little.

anyway, back to zfs, you didn't voice any alarm at my "virtual" home folder 
scheme. regarding root partition, i'll think it over, but given my luck with 
updates, i don't imagine doing any.
