Chris, Tim Foster sent out this syntax previously:
zfs set com.sun:auto-snapshot=false dataset Unless I'm misunderstanding your questions, try this for the dataset on the removable media device. Let me know if you have any issues. I'm tracking the auto snapshot experience...
