Umm, how many Linux shops buy support and/or HW from Sun ? It it's a Linux shop money is (in order) going to these people - IBM, Redhat, Novell, Dell. Those all are - technically - Sun competitors in some sphere. If you consider software stacks, there are only 3 companies in the world with complete SW stack - Sun, IBM and Microsoft If you throw HW in the mix, there are only two - Sun and IBM.
