Nope, in fact I have set up an X2100 pretty much exactly as you want. set up 5 partitions: /, swap, space for live upgrade, a small partition for the SVM metadbs, and the rest of the disk. This last one is used as that machines zdev for its ZFS pool. So, root and swap mirrored using SVM, and everything else on a mirrored ZFS pool.
