I'll second this, the 3114 is a piece of junk if you value your data. I bought a 4 port LSI SAS card (yes a bit pricy) and have had 0 problems since and hot swap actually works. I never tried it with the 3114 I had just never seen it actually working before so I was quite pleasantly surprised.
