I believe this is due to to patches and the installer not understanding
mount issues.

I would assume that you'd have to have it explicitly mounted all the
time.  I don't believe that would be a problem.

I think when more of the system installer logic understands ZFS, then
the zones (and the packaging/patching issues it brings) will follow
along as well.
