Hi Lori et al,

I am not 100% sure that it breaks in zfs. I have managed to attach a serial 
console to the machine and I see the following in the boot process after 
booting into the kernel debugger:

I have checked the boot_archive by booting into the failsave mode importing the 
zfs pool and running 

# ./sbin/bootadm list-archive -R /tmp/root/b
[..]
etc/system
etc/name_to_major
etc/driver_aliases
[..]
etc/zfs/zpool.cache
#

now I somehow lost in space ;-)
