Also keep in mind that FUSE has the disadvantage of data needing to pass the userland/kernel barrier typically at least twice, so there will be some slowdown there most likely. That doesn't mean ZFS on FUSE can't get faster, just that I doubt it will ever be as fast as "native" ZFS on Solaris and FreeBSD.
