I am sorry, we don't have oracle databases on zfs filesystems
(colleagues of mine are currently exploring RMAN to backup oracle
databases, that reside on a ufs filesystem, however).

We are doing backups of zfs storage pools with about 2000 filesystems
(basically home directories). Some of the issues we did encounter:
- For each single filesystem we had to add a corresponding DOMAIN
  entry to dsm.sys. Very tedious.
- We have distributed the filesystems among several TSM nodes.
One reason is that a full restore hangs if there a two many
  filesystems/data in one TSM node.
- The TSM client does not easily allow to remove TSM filespaces.
- TSM does not backup ZFS filesystem properties, of course.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

we are using TSM to backup zfs.
Currently, zfs is not supported at all and therefore you cannot
backup zfs ACLs with TSM. TSM 5.5, which will probably be available
at the end of the year, will have basic ZFS support (including
backup and restore of ACLs).
