1) Since this is a system that many users will depend on, use zfs-managed redundancy, either mirroring or raid-z, between the LUNs exported by the storage system. You may think your storage system is perfect, but are you sure? with a non-redundant zfs, over time, you'll know for sure, but you might find this out at a very inconvenient time. With zfs-managed redundancy, if bit rot happens, you have an excellent chance of slogging through without any application-visible impact. 2) Enable compression.
