I would not go with this device. I picked up one along with 12 500GB SATA drives with the hopes of making a dumping ground on the network for my servers to rsync to.
Now I might have it all kinds of not configured or tuned correctly in terms of solaris & zfs (which if I do I can't fiure out), but performance is terrible compared to my existing dumping ground based on a cheap-o raid-5 card & freebsd
