Due to fan-out considerations, every BIOS I've seen will run DDR400
memory at 333MHz when connected to more than 1 DIMM-per-channel (I
believe at AMD's urging).

In other words, you might save a few dollars using DDR333 for 4 x 512MB
if you're not going to run 2 x 1GB (which is the preferred approach).
