I really beg to differ on the VIA chip. The VIA chip is VERY interesting to some of us due to its onboard AES and RSA capability. The onboard AES makes it very interesting to me for ZFS crypto.
Think about a secure consumer targeted storage applicance that does encryption and uses ZFS for the file storage.
There is a whole community building up else where on OpenSolaris.org just for applicances and NAS is one of the areas of discussion.
