The only reason you want the snapshot removed is because you don't want your 
pool to become full. IIRC VxFS has a feature to automatically delete a snapshot 
if a write would return ENOSPC, than the snaphot is deleted and the write is 
retried. This might be considered as an additional feature to your automatic 
expiry.
