Well, did you manage to narrow down whether this is a problem with Vty
or Yi? I imagine it's a problem with a change from 4.7 to 5.0 in Vty. In
that case, did you manage to come up with a test case in Vty itself?

I have two more 32-bit Linux boxes (headless) that I could be trying to
replicate the problem on but it'd be much easier to do so if the test
was automated rather than me sitting here for 5 minutes and playing with
tabs in Yi.

If you don't know where in Vty the problem is, maybe you could at least
automate Yi to do the tab business for you. See [1] for a useful config
file which you can use to automate keystrokes. If you could provide such
config with your test case, it'd be much easier on anyone trying to
reproduce the problem.

In any case, I don't think we can safely consider a move to Vty 5.0 with
this issue around.
