I posed this question in #250 [1], but JPB is correct in that I should have started a thread here.
Currently, every UI (except Cocoa, maybe?) requires the point to be visible at all times, but, in my opinion, it's nicer to allow users to scroll away without moving the point. Moving the point or editing the text should, of course, move the display to center the point. This is the standard on most GUI apps, and I think Emacs can do it optionally. Any thoughts?
