So I think it would be pretty neat to have some form of intellisense dropdown as a core widget in YI. It could be off by default, but it should be trivial for plugin to use. For instance, haskell mode could use it for namespace and import completion.
In my experience, intellisense is the main feature that holds people back from using emacs and instead stick religiously to visual studio or eclipse. While I'm not convinced this is the end-all feature, for a lot of really good programmers it is necessary in an editor.
