The real problem is the huge overlap between clumps after random generation.
I fixed it by setting a max number of particles and a smaller size of
clumps (last commit). Isn't there a better way than trial and error to
get the appropriate clump size? Did you ever generate a non-overlaping
clump cloud?
Yes, but ppreparation steps are needed for that. Please have a look at
examples/clumps/replaceByClumps-example.py and set if condition at the
end true (preparation to reduce overlaps). When it is finished, you
get your specified packing without overlaps (Press play button).
For your tutorial script you may need a another script, that just
creates the packing. But this would be a bit "too much" for beginners,
right?
I was in fact surprised that makeClumpCloud doesn't complain on
overlaps. If it was following the model of makeCloud, it would not give
any overlap, but apparently it is not checked in the clump version (or a
bug in the periodic case?).
