thanks, Joao and Hartmut for your comments.

I'll try to elaborate a little more my situation.

personally I'm happy with the default behaviour of Xubuntu (I'm a gnu/linux guy
since 2003).

Now, I work as a sysadmin and I have about 40 workstations running Xubuntu for
ex-WindowsXP users. (previously I tried different *ubuntus. the last one was
Kubuntu but the users made lot of mistakes because of the bloated interface).
then I choosed Xfce for the simplicity and everyone is happy with it.

What I'm seeing frecuently, is some users suddenly "miss" files from folders
and then I find out those files goes to the "trash".
So, knowing that 99,9% is users fault, I'm looking a way to show a confirmation
dialog to minimize these files "missing accidentally".

I agree the default Xubuntu don't need these dialogs, but maybe a configuration
switch would help.

thanks again!

(thunar/nautilus)

Hi

2 cents from a newbie... I select a file, right click and get a pop up menu
with a number of options... one of them is to move file to trash, another is to
delete. If I choose Delete I get a warning notification that the file will be
permanently erased.

Personally I'm quite happy with this, as there's no risk of accidentally
deleting the file forever, as it can always be restored from the bin.

So... the option is already there, Gustavo. If we start adding the same option
to every single menu, we'll end up with a heavily bloated GUI like microsoft,
in my humble newbie opinion.

I like GUI as well and I find the right click options brilliant for most of the
most used everyday tasks...

I'm using xubuntu xfce... and loving it ever more the more I use it :)

yes, you're right.

but I'm also looking a way to ask user when moving to trash. I mean, when user
select a file and hit delete.

Hi, if in Thunar you press shift+delete you will be asked for a confirmation.
