Thanks Pjotr,
any test reports are helpful.
I'll be moving on to testing another patch later.

Another bug in the new Thunar from Git: when I mount a partition by

I'm not happy with Thunar 1.6.10git-b4826a8, so I'll remove it.
Hopefully my test reports have been useful.

OK, I've found this strange behaviour: the new Thunar from Git
doesn't mount my USB memory stick properly. Namely as read-only,
so I can't copy files to it.
Also, it doesn't show as mounted on the desktop. Neither on a USB
3.0 port nor on a USB2.0 port. But is is mounted: in the side
panel of Thunar I can click on the little arrow to unmount it.
When I use the same USB memory stick on my desktop, which has
exactly the same operating system (Linux Mint 18.1 Xfce), but with
the unchanged default Thunar, then there's no problem.

Thanks for your development efforts! I've just installed it in
Linux Mint Xfce 18.1: Thunar 1.6.10git-b4826a8.
For others who wish to test: you need to enable the source
code repo's for this.
I'll report my test results in a few days; I'm glad you're
looking into this, because I repeatedly had to resort to
Double Commander for copying files.
Regards, Pjotr.

Hi all, it's been a quiet cycle from testing point of view
so far.
We've not forgotten about thunar - so to cut a long story
short you can try testing thunar with these patches.
sudo apt-get build-dep thunar
git clone git://git.xfce.org/xfce/thunar
<http://git.xfce.org/xfce/thunar>
cd thunar
wget https://bugzilla.xfce.org/attachment.cgi?id
<https://bugzilla.xfce.org/attachment.cgi?id>=6976 -O
fix_crash.patch
wget
https://github.com/jlindgren90/thunar/commit/9c6dbb1dae70.patch
<https://github.com/jlindgren90/thunar/commit/9c6dbb1dae70.patch>
git apply fix_crash.patch
git apply 9c6dbb1dae70.patch
./autogen.sh
make
sudo make install
thunar -q
You should now be running a git version of thunar - check
thunar - help - about
Use it, abuse it, see if it fixes the crashes we see when
copying/renaming files.
When you've finished testing it for us - reply to this please.
To uninstall the git version - enter the thunar folder you
created above and run
sudo make uninstall
Thanks all
Kev
Note: if you use root thunar via pkexec you will need to
edit /usr/share/polkit-1/actions/org.xfce.thunar.policy to
point to /usr/local/bin/thunar
