I think so too, if it uses the default GTK theme from Xubuntu, says "About Xubuntu" instead of "About Ubuntu" and again, an "Install Software" button ;)

TheSheep has put together an alternative mock-up that I think looks very nice myself.

I've been doing a lot of research today and I agree that the welcome centre should have a big focus on how to install software as this seems to be the biggest issue for most new users.

I like the idea, however, I propose not making it too cluttered. Also, I'd clearly state what are links and that those links will open in a browser window. Plus, the network needs to be configured first. Would it be possible to incorporate the normal Xfce Settings Manager?
And perhaps a button that'll open Synaptic? I took ages for me to find out I could use Synaptic to install stuff.

I like it alot, I think that would be a great asset to new Xubuntu users. Lets take steps towards making sure it is ready for 6.10.1 (if there is going to be such a thing) or atleast for feisty. Does it already exist and just needs customization for Xubuntu or do we need to write it from the ground up? .... I'm not entirely familiar with the "Welcome Center" concept, a link with details would be greatly appreciated.
