Hi Charles and everyone

I managed to get everything to compile with the current Xcode tools and a copy
of gfortran from homebrew after making some ?possibly? minor changes to code to
get clang to work. However once compiled when i do a configure I get

dylib
in
/System/Library/Frameworks/Accelerate.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/vecLib.framework/Versions/A/libvDSP.dylib
dyld: Symbol not found: _cblas_dgemm
 Referenced from:
/System/Library/Frameworks/Accelerate.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/vecLib.framework/Versions/A/libvDSP.dylib
 Expected in:
/Users/garythompson/programs/xplor-nih/2.35.0/bin.Darwin_13_x86_64/libBLAS.dylib

from my reading of this I need to use the native accelerated blas and lapack
but I am not quite sure how to use these rather than compiling the versions
that come with xplor

as always any thoughts are welcome and much appreciated

gary

Hello Gary--

The death of my linux laptop has pushed me into compiling modules
and xplor on an apple macintosh. Can someone tell what tool chain
should I be using to do this; i.e. gcc vs Xcode clang, specifically
this is on mavericks

also do I need a specific compiler version and tools supplier fink
vs macports vs homebrew...?

I've used fink, but others have used macports. I believe Xcode is
necessary. I have not yet compiled on mavericks, though. 10.6.8 is the
most recent OS I've compiled on to date. This with gcc/gfortran 4.6.3.

I hope this helps.

Charles
