I have new binary packages of VMD-XPLOR 1.8 on the download site, which should properly read restraints with the sort of comments which you reported. Comments are still not allowed between the numeric values of the assignment statement. And do note that comments placed after the third numeric value are special, in that they are rendered in-window by VMD-XPLOR if the comments button is toggled on.
