Hi, I am using debian unstable with enlightenment as window manager. If I run kill -HUP <enlightenment pid> from a xterm running in enlightenment then I can reload enlightenment without issues, but if I do the same from a console or logged in via ssh then X restarts with the error message (EE) AMDGPU(0): failed to set mode: Permission denied (complete Xorg.0.log.old https://hastebin.com/utevonusaz).
Is this "Permission denied" error something that can be fixed by granting the necessary permissions? Or is this a bug and should be reported? Thanks for your help Reinhard Vicinus PS: Some information regarding the system: inxi -GSaz --vs inxi 3.3.19-00 (2022-06-16) System: Kernel: 5.18.0-2-amd64 arch: x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 11.3.0 parameters: BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-5.18.0-2-amd64 root=/dev/mapper/vg0-root ro Desktop: Enlightenment v: 0.25.3 vt: 7 dm: LightDM v: 1.26.0 Distro: Debian GNU/Linux bookworm/sid Graphics: Device-1: AMD Renoir vendor: Lenovo driver: amdgpu v: kernel arch: GCN 5.1 process: TSMC n7 (7nm) built: 2018-21 pcie: gen: 4 speed: 16 GT/s lanes: 16 ports: active: eDP-1 empty: DP-1,DP-2,HDMI-A-1 bus-ID: 07:00.0 chip-ID: 1002:1636 class-ID: 0300 Device-2: Chicony Integrated Camera type: USB driver: uvcvideo bus-ID: 2-2:2 chip-ID: 04f2:b6d0 class-ID: fe01 serial: <filter> Display: x11 server: X.Org v: 1.21.1.3 compositor: enlightenment driver: X: loaded: amdgpu unloaded: fbdev,modesetting,vesa gpu: amdgpu display-ID: :0.0 screens: 1 Screen-1: 0 s-res: 1920x1080 s-dpi: 96 s-size: 508x285mm (20.00x11.22") s-diag: 582mm (22.93") Monitor-1: eDP-1 mapped: eDP model: AU Optronics 0x573d built: 2018 res: 1920x1080 hz: 60 dpi: 158 gamma: 1.2 size: 309x174mm (12.17x6.85") diag: 355mm (14") ratio: 16:9 modes: max: 1920x1080 min: 640x480 OpenGL: renderer: AMD RENOIR (LLVM 14.0.4 DRM 3.46 5.18.0-2-amd64) v: 4.6 Mesa 22.0.5 direct render: Yes
