Can anyone tell me how to globally unset Xft.dpi, particularly on an installation that does not set Xft.dpi via /etc/X11/Xresources, e.g. on Linuxmint Cinnamon? Searching Mint 17.2 for config files including string "Xft.dpi:" is fruitless. The string shows up only in 5 binaries in /usr/lib/*. Attempts I made to unset it via /etc/X11/Xsession.d/ and /etc/X11/xinit/ all fail. I tried to find a way reading the xrdb man page, but if it's in there, it's escaping my recognition. Xft.dpi on some distros and DEs overrides DisplaySize if set in xorg.conf*, and xrandr -fbmm or -dpi if set in a startup script, which has a very unfriendly effect on attempting to configure to maximize usability and accessibility via object sizing through DPI preconfiguration in X.
