The kernel & Xorg messages are just alerting you to a problem in a very generic manner. Every Intel GPU hang generates these identical messages, and there appear to be an infinite number of ways we can hang the GPU. (Ignoring all the other methods we can use to cause the GPU/system to hang/stall.)
