The intel driver puts its version number into the X log file when its
module is loaded, so look there.
For example:
$ grep -A1 'Module intel' /var/log/Xorg.0.log
(II) Module intel: vendor="X.Org Foundation"
compiled for 1.5.99.1, module version = 2.5.96
