I am evaluating XMLMind Editor for a client of mine. I am very familiar with Madcap Flare and found XMLMind when I was looking for an equivalent product.

I really like it, but I cannot recommend it to my client because I cannot perform targeted searches. For example if I search for "Key analysis" using XMLMind, I get all results containing "key" and "analysis" as shown in the image below even when I deactivate stemming:

I have looked at the Javascript related to the search functionality in the Compiler and it appears that this is a significant code change for a user such as myself.

Can you apply an update to support targeted searches so that only "key analysis" results are returned in relation to the example above? Madcap Flare supports this functionality but I am hoping to move away from Madcap Flare.

That's right, searching for "Key analysis" gets you all the pages containing both the
"key" and "analysis" words.

There is currently no way to search the Web Help for a sequence of words. That
is, the quotes are completely ignored and

"Key analysis"

is considered to be equivalent to

analysis key

We'll try to implement the "search for a sequence of words" feature in the next
version of XMLmind Web Help Compiler (https://www.xmlmind.com/ditac/whc.shtml) which is a
small, free, open source, software component, used by all XMLmind products, including
XMLmind XML Editor (https://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/).

We are very sorry but we will not implement the search functionality you have requested a couple of weeks ago.

After looking at the code, we have found an efficient way to implement the "search the Web Help for a sequence of words" functionality but this would require substantial changes in XMLmind Web Help Compiler. Therefore, unless there is sufficient demand for this functionality, we do not plan to implement it. For now, there is no such demand. Sorry again.
