Thanks for pointing this out. However, they do not (yet) convert to
the ebook format.
Its generated HTML5 is much cleaner than the DocBook-XSLT-generated
HTML5, but it does not preserve/create section elements
Pretty surprising given the fact that sections are one of HTML5 strengths.
Pandoc doesn't generate <section> tags by default. But you can request
them with the --section-divs command-line option.
