Sorry but there is currently no easy[*] way to do this.
Please note that there is a good reason for the current layout of the
toolbar: configurations are expected to add a *lot* of buttons at the
right of the stock buttons.
See attached screenshot for example. This is what happens when a DITA
document is opened in XMLmind XML Editor.
