saw some random doubled letters.

I searched the mailing list archive and found response in the thread:

files or ODT without random doubled letters? /
I'm sorry but you cannot do that with XMLmind DocBook Editor Professional.

This low-priced, special edition does not include the following add-ons:

* "XMLmind XSL-FO Converter" add-on. This add-on leverages another other
XMLmind commercial product (a $260/€245 value in itself):
http://www.xmlmind.com/foconverter/

* "XMLmind Word To XML" add-on. This add-on leverages another other
XMLmind commercial product (a $260/€245 value in itself):
http://www.xmlmind.com/w2x/

Only more expensive XMLmind XML Editor includes the two above fully
functional add-ons at no additional cost.

This is explained here:

Which editor to choose?
http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/which_editor.html

We'll make these limitations even more clearer on our web site in the
next few hours because you are not the first customer to get caught.

Sorry again.

This of course will also apply to the Personal version.
My questions:
- Where can I find the more clear explanation (as promised)?

This limitation is clearly stated in the "XMLmind DocBook Editor" page:

---
However please note that, unlike XMLmind XML Editor, this special edition does not include fully functional editions of the following add-ons: "XMLmind XSL-FO Converter" add-on (conversion to RTF, WML, DOCX, ODT), "XMLmind Word To XML" add-on (import of DOCX files).
---

See http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/docbook_editor.html

- Would it be possible to give a warning message to the user, as other
conversion look OK, HTML, PDF and I saw this "problem" by chance?

You'll find a banner at the top of the dialog box displayed by "Convert Document|Convert to RTF" (and also "Convert to WordprocessingML", "to Office Open XML", "to OpenDocument"). See attached screenshot.

Adding this banner to the dialog box is deemed sufficient to warn the user.

Of course, when you convert a document to HTML or PDF, this banner is absent from the dialog box.

- Is this limitation still present or is it now a bug?

This not a bug, nor a limitation per se.

XMLmind DocBook Editor, whether Personal edition or Professional Edition, simply does not support the fully functional editions of the following add-ons:

- "XMLmind XSL-FO Converter" add-on (conversion to RTF, WML, DOCX, ODT),

- "XMLmind Word To XML" add-on (import of DOCX files).

Only XMLmind XML Editor Professional Edition comes with functional editions of the above add-ons at no additional costs. See "Which editor to choose", http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/which_editor.html
