I have problems with the spell checking in XMLMind 8.1.0.
I’ve defined an language in my DocBook xml (de-DE) and started spell
checking. If it found a word and I want to ignore it (F6), the word is
still marked as typo in the document. When I tried to restart the spell
check the word seems to be ignored.
It’s hard to check a document if all word are correct when they aren’t
marked as ignored!
Is there a setting for this or is this a bug?
It's a bug or more precisely a limitation which is hard to remove.
This limitation may be expressed as:
XMLmind XML Editor has 2 spell checkers, the "on the fly" one (which
underlines misspelled words) and the "on demand" one (which displays a
dialog box). These 2 spell checkers do not communicate in real time,
hence the issue you report.
We suggest to use only ONE of these two spell checkers at a time.
--> If you prefer to use the "on the fly" spell checker, simply right
click inside an underlined misspelled word to replace it or to select
"Ignore All" from the right-click popup menu.
--> If you prefer to use the "on demand" spell checker, we suggest that
you turn off the "on the fly" spell checker (at least temporarily). This
is done by clicking the spell checker toggle found in the status bar at
the bottom in the main window. See
http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_distrib/doc/help/spell_checker.html
Of course, we'll try to remove this limitation in the next version of
XMLmind XML Editor but we cannot guarantee that we'll succeed in doing that.
