No. Not at all.
We are using PNG images all the time in our own documents and we assume
that most of our users do the same. No one has ever reported the problem
you are facing.

My guess is that this issue is triggered by your working environment.
--> First experiment: please try to reopen the same document but this
time loaded from a plain file (I see in the screenshot a
"xdocs://MyServer/" URL) to see what happens.
--> Second experiment: keep using your XDocs server but set "Load images
in a background task" to "No" (Options|Preferences, View section,

before opening the document.
May be this handy async image loading feature is incompatible with the
way your XDocs server works.
