I’m trialling the use of XMLMind editor as a potential client to edit our DITA
documentation.
I keep seeing what look like precursor files with extensions like .dita~ and
.ditamap~. What is the function of these, and is there a way to disable their
creation? We don’t want to be committing unnecessary files into our SVN
repositories.
These "~" files are backup files. You can use them to revert to your
original file, thus forget all the changes you made during your last
editing session.
If you don't want these files, please select menu item
"Options|Preferences", "Save" section and uncheck "Before saving, make a
backup copy of the file".
