After your help last year, I’m comfortable with using a profile to flag new/deleted text and highlight the difference between two releases; thank-you! along with the body-text indent option, this means I can deliver good-looking, usable documentation. Now I need to try and take my use of profiles farther, and even after consulting the helps it’s clear I’m missing something. The aim for the current project is to hide/exclude text with a specific audience. You’ll see from the screenshot that I have managed to set this up correctly while editing … what I haven’t managed so far is to exclude that same block of text when generating .pdf output. I’ve attached the topic file and the profile, and confidently hope you’ll be able to tell me what I’ve done wrong / missed, and where in the Help I should already have found the answer. I’ve read the Easy Profiling helps repeatedly, but – obviously enough! – failed to grasp this important point.
Works flawlessly for me. See attached PDF file.If you copied exclusion.profiles from another directory, you need to open the copy in XXE and use "File|Save As" to save it under the same name. Without this, you'll not have the DITAVAL files needed to generate the PDF file.
The "Easy Profiling" add-on automatically generates behind the scene these DITAVAL files every time you edit a .profiles file and save your changes to disk.
