it
has no effects, it is my locale that, by default, is applied (Nameøy

I'm sorry but once again, this is a Java problem which is specific to
your working environment. There is nothing we can do to fix it.
Please note that we know that Oracle Java 1.8 on the Mac still has a
lot of bugs and is much less reliable than was Apple Java 1.6. I'm
afraid you'll have to endure many minor annoyances like this one.
While this is certainly the case, here is some more, perhaps relevant
info: Just now, I opened an old zip-file with my translation of XXE7.0,
from july 2016. I opened using the XXE Translation tool, with the
command 'Import Jar or addon Zip'. Then popped up a dialog window where
the language, 'nn', was preselected - indicating that the translation
tool had looked for, and found, the 'nn' code in the Zip file.
However, when I repeated the action, opening the ZIP file with my
translation of XXE7.4, no language code was preselected. Instead, I had
to manually select the 'nn' code. Is this difference related to my
switch from Apple Java to Oracle Java? Or somethinge else?
Once I selected 'nn', however, things worked nicely. That is: The
translations in the <target/> elements remained intact. By contrast, if
I set the locale to another locale (such as 'nb' for Norwegian Bokmål)
to indicate that I would like to use the existing 'nn' localization as
basis for a translation in another language, all the the target elements
become empty. (Which is pretty unhandy, since I concider to translate
XXE to Norwegian Bokmål ...)
