I use xinclude inside XHTML documents. But I find it very difficult to

If I embed ‘fileA’ inside ‘motherDoc’, and if I change the file name of ‘fileA’ to ‘fileB’ (for instance, one can use the ‘Open Current Folder
file navigation pane in order to change the file name) and if
‘motherDoc’ is open (or gets opened) then XMLmind XML Editor will issue
endless many warnings (in the form of dialog windows) that it cannot
find ‘fileA’.

I'm sorry but I don't see how this (endless many warnings in the form of dialog windows) could happen given the way transclusion is implemented.

Anyway, I cannot reproduce this behavior.

I seem unable to reproduce, myself, in 7.4. Will report back if I get more to say.

But the current behavior makes me
wanto edit the ‘motherDoc’ in my text editor rather than in XMLmind XML
editor.

You should give "View|XML Source" a try. See http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_distrib/doc/help/xml_source_menu_item.html

Well, I did use that addon.

I did not do this.

When transclusion fails, the xi:include elements are displayed as is in the styled view. Such xi:include elements may be edited from within XXE like any other element.

See second attached screenshot.

(Was tested in XMLmind XML editor verison 7.3)
