I want to ask you whether the following behavior of XXE is normal or not.
In my XXE, the "Options | Preferences | View | When showing tags, also show table tags"
is selected, and "View | Show Tags" is selected.
When dragging the column separator of the DITA table by using mouse, additional
unnecessary colspec elements are generated and the column separator cannot be
successfully moved to the desired position.
But the "When showing tags, also show table tags" option ("Options | Preferences |
View") is deselected, the column separator is successfully dragged to the desired position
without generating additional colspec elements.
Is this normal or a bug?
The bug you have reported is fixed. However the result is still not
perfect because there is no way to do that. Corresponding release note
below explains why:
---
Dragging a column separator in a table when menu item menu item
"View|Show Tags" and user preference "When showing tags, also show table
tags" (Options|Preferences, View section) were checked caused two extra
colspec/colgroup elements to be added to this table.
This bug went unnoticed for a long time because by default, user
preference "When showing tags, also show table tags" is not checked.
Note that even if this bug has been fixed, dragging a column separator
in a table when menu item "View|Show Tags" and user preference "When
showing tags, also show table tags" are checked still does not give
“realistic results”. The reason for this shortcoming is that the visible
table tags still gets in the way. In other words, unchecking "View|Show
Tags" is still required to see how the table actually looks.
