even if the file C:\Users\erimando\Desktop\Untitled.xml doesn’t already
exist. I would expect that clicking the “Yes” button should create and
save the file with the given filename
“C:\Users\erimando\Desktop\Untitled.xml”.
I'm sorry but we don't agree with this. That's why the behavior you
expect has not been implemented.
What does this Information dialog box mean?
It means that that a newly created file must be given an actual name.
Automatic name "C:\Users\erimando\Desktop\Untitled.xml" is definitely
not OK.
For that, clicking "x" and then "Yes" in the first dialog box is not
sufficient. You really need to use "File|Save As" in the case of a newly
created document.
You seem to be just testing XMLmind XML Editor, but in real use cases,
basename "Untitled.xml" is never wanted. Moreover, the suggested save
directory "C:\Users\erimando\Desktop" may not be what the user would
have chosen.
Note that there is an option which forces the user to specify a save
filename just after "File|New" is invoked. With this option, you'll of
course get the behavior you expect after clicking clicking "x" and then
"Yes".
See option "Immediately save newly created document"
