Thank you for your swift reply; some answers below,
Best regards,
Philippe.
The problem is not related to FTP.
No, agreed. We were just mentioning FTP because it makes the workaround a
little bit more tedious... :(.
It's about XXE allowing to save an XML document containing character 0x0.
This looks like a bug.
Please send me a copy of file monthly_report.xml having the problem (i.e.
before fixing the problem using Emacs).
I am afraid we have already fixed the document now because we needed urgently
yesterday. But any non ASCII character added in @url will cause this issue
(they appear as small squares in the attributes editor).
Note that we normally spot easily these problems with local files when we try
to preview a PDF version since the DocBook XSLT stylesheets crash... This time
it was more difficult.
Also, if you can, please explain how you managed to insert character 0x0 into
attribute url of ulink.
Of course, it's a bit specific...
You need to have both Windows and Linux available on the same screen... -- : suffices
then to copy an URL containing an "end of line" from Windows (e.g. from an
Outlook message), and to paste it under Linux in a @url attribute...
We will provide you with a small DocBook document showing the issue, it that
helps to fix the bug in XXE.

Thank you for this information. We should manage to reproduce this bug
