I have been using a personal edition of XMLmind editor on Windows 7 for some time. I'm in the process of moving to MacOS, and looking for XMLmind for MacOS 10.8.
XMLmind XML Editor works fine on Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) and also on 10.9 (Mavericks). However please note that installing the .dmg distribution and then running the program for the first time will automatically install Apple Java 6 on your computer.
If instead, you prefer to use latest and greatest Oracle Java 7, then you'll have 1) to download and install to Oracle Java 7 by hand 2) forget about the .dmg distribution and instead use the .zip or .tar.gz distributions.
Note that Apple Java 6 is a better choice than Oracle Java 7 for XMLmind XML Editor (Apple Java 6 has a much nicer font rendering). That's why we keep our .dmg distribution tied to this older, but far from being obsolete, version of Java.
